2019-08-31 21:00:00 2019-08-31 America/New_York Movie Night: Princess Bride Ellicott City The Wine Bin wine@winebinec.com

(PG/1987) Return to a time when men were men and swamps were swamps. Fire swamps, that is. Full of quicksand and Rodents of Unusual Size. Lagoons were inhabited by shrieking eels. And the most beautiful woman in the world was named…Buttercup? Well, it's a bent fairy tale. Complete with all the fencing, fighting, chases, escapes, and silly accents you'd expect. Plus one of two things only Rob Reiner (director of "Misery", "When Harry Met Sally...") could dream up. Like Inigo Montoya, who has dreamt his whole life of finding the six finger man who killed his father. Blonde Buttercup loves Westley, a poor stable boy. But when he's captured by pirates, she's chosen by evil Prince Humperdinck to be his princess bride. Along the way, she gets kidnapped, he gets killed. But it all ends up okay.

The parking lot closes to cars 1.5 hours before showtime. Chair setup is allowed after that point.  The Wine Bin offers beer and wine tastings before the movie.  There is popcorn available for a donation to Howard County's Voices for Children.  The movies are a free event, but please be aware that The Bin pays $1,000's of dollars each year to license and show the movies... A few rules to consider:

-No smoking on The Wine Bin property

-No talking during the movie

- Please purchase your alcohol from The Bin

-Please be polite and courteous to your fellow movie goers and share the space

Frequently Asked Questions

When do the Movies Start?
We hit the play button at 9PM May to August.  8PM after August

Do you show the Movies Rain or Shine?
Neither...can't show them when is raining or when the sun is out.

How do we find out if a movie is cancelled?
We post the cancellation or movie change on our Facebook page.

Can we drink in the parking lot?
Yes, that's the only way we make money to help pay for the movie.

Who puts the movies on?
The Wine Bin...We often hear how nice it is that "they" put the movies on and how it must help our business.  We are the "they".  We get no county financial support for doing the movies.  On occasion we get an organization/business that would like to sponsor the movie and they help offset the license fee.  In the past few years we have received a small sponsorship from Howard County Tourism.

Are the movies family friendly?
We show a wide range of movie styles.  Some movies may not be appropriate for you or your family.  Please visit IMDB.com to view parental warnings for each film to help you decide what is appropriate for your child and yourself.
