Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Take a look at our list of wines that we think are tops for your turkey dinner.

2013 Alma Cotes Catalanes $15

Alma Rouge is a lovely deep ruby/garnet, with a pure and elegant nose of freshly crushed red and black berry fruit. The palate is similarly fruity, round and softly tannic. The pristine, ripe berry fruit and juicy acidity are untouched by the influence of oak.

2013 G.D. Vajra Rosso $16

20% Nebbiolo for structure, aromaticity, elegance and cherry hints, 30% Dolcetto for bright red color, violet hints, primary aromas of fresh fruit and berries,  30% Barbera for additional freshness and fruitiness,  10% Albarossa gives generous ripe fruit and body & 5% Pinot Noir. Overall floral notes of red fruit, plum, underbrush and spices

2014 Jean Claude Boisset “Les Moutots” Aligote $24

100% Aligote is the other white grape of Burgundy.  Aged for 16 months in 30% new French oak barrels to impart a subtle, delicate touch of oak. The aroma has citrus fruits and white flowers jumping out of the glass.  A beautifully bold wine with a touch of hazelnut and citrus fruits.

2014 Jourdan Cinsault $16

100% Cinsault, this light, translucent red wine shows aromas of red berries on the nose with strawberry and watermelon on the palate with just a little underlying earthiness. Minimally dry fresh finish with light herbal notes

2015 la Combe Perdue Mediterranée Roussanne $14

This 100% Roussanne wine has intense aromatics of herbal tea and floral notes.  Beautiful flavors of pear, hazelnuts and herbs.  Round and full bodied

2015 San Gerasimo Robola $20

This 100% organic Robola has hints of jasmine & tea.  Delicate mouth feel of white peach & thyme coexist with  moderate volume and generous acidity.

2015 Duck Pond Pinot Gris $15

This wine is bursting with apricot, nectarine, lemon zest, grapefruit, and minerals. The wine’s acidity makes it a perfect partner to turkey finishing crisp & dry.

2014 Primarius Pinot Oregon $16

The mouthfeel is round and pleasant, yielding some further depth suggesting Morello cherries and nutmeg. The finish lingers with soft, silky tannins and leaves an aftertaste of sweet red and black fruits and spice.

2015 Claude Val Vendanges $11

Light garnet red with purple tints. Complex with plum and raspberry notes evolving towards soft spice aromas. Fruity, rich and round. Smooth and well-balanced; finishing on licorice notes.

2015 Alessandro Veglio Dolcetto d’Alba $15

Delicious ripe dark cherry fruit. Juicy and ripe on the palate, with fine structuring tannins, classic Dolcetto and perfect for the turkey.

2013 Salvaterra Valpolicella Classico $13

A soft Valpolicella with flavors of red and dark cherry nicely mixing with notes of light earth, raisin, chocolate and spice. Medium length finish. Moderate tannins, good acidity and nicely balanced.

2014 Heitz Cellars Grignolino $25

Versatile and vivacious, this wine is filled to the brim with sweet red berry flavors and garnished with just a hint of orange peel, refreshingly zippy acidity.

2014 Edmond St John Bone Jolly $23

Very light red, almost Pinot-like.  The nose is fresh, yet also distinctly earthy; sous-bois beneath fraises des bois.  Flavors in fine balance around sneaky acidity.  Lovely texture from the stems, subtle spice, as well.  Finish lasts and lasts.

2014 La Malkerida Bobal $14

In the nose, it is quite fragrant with red fruits, undergrowth and floral notes. In the palate, it is light to medium bodied, with peppery notes (typical from Bobal grape), refreshing acidity and a medium to long finish. It is a lively and easy red wine!

2013 Kiona Vineyards Lemberger $16

Lemberger is a relatively obscure Eastern European grape. The vine grows exceedingly well on Red Mountain,  Kiona’s Estate Lemberger has a vibrant, well-balanced palate along with plenty of earth and spice. Super cool and geeky!

2013 Domaine Specht Pinot Blanc $18

This is a simple, creamy and toasty wine. It has fresh pear and quince flavors that are ripe and soft. Just the right amount of acidity making this the perfect turkey wine.

2015 Joseph Bauer Ried Spiegel Gruner Veltliner $16

Opens with big aromatics of green apple, ripe pear, chalky minerality.  In your month you’ll find it fleshy and mouth filling with loads of lift and freshness with sweet pear, roasted Clementine, and spice flavors.

2013 Ancient Peaks Zinfandel  $20

Nuanced aromas of raspberry, blueberry, tobacco and white pepper. The palate is deep and chewy, showing brambly flavors of wild blackberry jam and black cherry with notes of vanilla, caramel and cola. Hints of spice emerge on a finely structured finish. A big boy for turkey but perfect for the rich Thanksgiving sides.
